RECOGNIZING JENA HANSON

Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E946] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] RECOGNIZING JENA HANSON ______ HON. BRAD FINSTAD of minnesota in the house of representatives Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Mr. FINSTAD. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the 1st District's own Jena Hanson, the newly crowned 73rd Princess Kay of the Milky Way. Princess Kay of the Milky Way serves as the goodwill ambassador for our Minnesota dairy farmers. Selected through a three-phase process, candidates compete throughout the year with hopes of being selected as a finalist prior to the Minnesota State Fair. Jena, from Owatonna and representing Steele County, was announced as the 2026 winner and will spend this next year helping connect dairy farmers with consumers across the state. She even had her likeness carved into a 90-pound block of butter displayed at the Great Minnesota Get-Together. The crowning of Princess Kay is a special tradition for the Finstad family, as my niece was the 61st Princess Kay and my wife served Watonwan County Dairy Princess. I congratulate Jena. I know she will represent both the 1st District and our dairy farmers well in this special role. Southern Minnesota and I are proud of her accomplishments. ____________________
