REMEMBERING CHIEF JOHN WELTER Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 137 (Monday, August 31, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 137 (Monday, August 31, 2026)] [House] [Page H5350] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] REMEMBERING CHIEF JOHN WELTER (Mr. CORREA asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute.) Mr. CORREA. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and legacy of my very good friend, Chief John Welter, the 32nd police chief of my hometown, the city of Anaheim, California. Chief Welter made many contributions to the good people of Anaheim, including the creation of the department's first-ever chief advisory council. He also established the John Welter Family Justice Center to help those in need in the city of Anaheim. I also extend my deepest condolences to his spouse, Terri, and the whole Welter family in this very difficult time. I ask my colleagues today to join me in honoring John Welter's legacy of leadership, service, and his commitment to protecting the city of Anaheim that we call home. ____________________
