REPS. CARLOS A. GIMENEZ AND TROY CARTER, INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN ONE-STOP PILOT PROGRAM EXTENSION ACT

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressmen Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-28) and Troy A. Carter (LA-02), introduced the One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act , bipartisan legislation to extend and expand the federal aviation security program that allows eligible international passengers and their checked baggage to connect to domestic flights without undergoing a second TSA screening, while maintaining strict security standards. Today the One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act was reported favorably to the full House of Representatives for consideration. Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez said, "South Florida is one of the busiest international gateways in the United States, and we must keep passengers and airports moving efficiently while maintaining the highest security standards. The bipartisan One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act will reduce delays, ease congestion at our airports, and improve the travel experience for international travelers without compromising safety. It is a common-sense step that strengthens both our aviation system and our economy." Congressman Troy A. Carter, said, "The One Stop Pilot Program Extension Act is a smart, modern solution that cuts delays, reduces costs, and strengthens our security partnerships. By allowing travelers from trusted international airports to connect to domestic flights without duplicative screening, we can ease congestion, support airport operations, and boost tourism economies like New Orleans. Extending this pilot gives TSA, CBP, and airports the runway they need to expand and scale this program responsibly." Read the full bill text HERE . ###
