HONORING THE CENTENNIAL OF THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO, RIO PIEDRAS CAMPUS

Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 152 (Thursday, September 24, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 152 (Thursday, September 24, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E975] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING THE CENTENNIAL OF THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO, RIO PIEDRAS CAMPUS ______ HON. PABLO JOSE HERNANDEZ of puerto rico in the house of representatives Thursday, September 24, 2026 Mr. HERNANDEZ. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and congratulate the College of Business Administration of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, as it celebrates its centennial anniversary (1926-2026), commemorating 100 years of academic excellence, leadership, and service to Puerto Rico. Established in 1926 as the School of Commerce and Business Administration, the institution marked the beginning of formal higher education in business and management disciplines in Puerto Rico. Over the past century, it has played a pivotal role in preparing generations of professionals who have contributed to the island's economic development, strengthened its public and private sectors, and served communities both in Puerto Rico and abroad. A defining milestone in the college's history came in 2013, when it earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This internationally recognized distinction reaffirmed the college's commitment to the highest standards of academic quality and established it as the only public institution of higher education in Puerto Rico to hold this prestigious accreditation. Today, the college continues to advance its mission through a strong commitment to innovation, international collaboration, sustainability, and continuous academic improvement. These efforts have strengthened its reputation as a center of excellence and reinforced its role as an essential pillar of Puerto Rico's public university system. The celebration of its centennial, under the theme ``One Hundred Years Building Success Stories,'' provides an opportunity to reflect on the college's remarkable legacy while recognizing the invaluable contributions of its faculty, students, administrative personnel, alumni, and supporters, whose dedication has shaped the institution's success throughout the past century. Mr. Speaker, it is with great pride that I recognize the centennial of the College of Business Administration of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. May this milestone serve not only as a celebration of its distinguished history, but also as an inspiration for future generations to continue advancing excellence in education, leadership, innovation, and service to Puerto Rico. ____________________
