Mr. TRAN. Mr. Speaker, I am proud to introduce a resolution to formally recognize April 30, 2026, as the 51st anniversary of Black April or Thang Tu Den. For the Vietnamese diaspora, April 30, 1975, is not just not a solemn day in our history. It is a reminder of the day we lost everything--our homes, our livelihoods and our beloved country. We honor the members of the South Vietnamese military who fought alongside American and Allied forces, risking everything to defend democracy. My own parents escaped brutal repression by the Communist government and fled to the United States seeking the freedom that had been ripped away from them. Amidst the darkness of war, our culture, our grit, and our resilience have spread across the world. As the first Vietnamese American to represent Orange County's Little Saigon in Congress, I am proud to share our story on the floor of the House of Representatives to ensure that no Communist regime can rewrite our history. ____________________
