Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E1039] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING TEXAS-24 HOMETOWN HERO CHARLIE McGINNIS ______ HON. BETH VAN DUYNE of texas in the house of representatives Tuesday, October 6, 2026 Ms. VAN DUYNE. Mr. Speaker, I rise to recognize our Texas-24 Hometown Hero, Charlie McGinnis. He is a freshman at St. Mark's School of Texas. When deciding his Eagle Scout project, he knew where to go. Just two years before, Charlie's older brother, James, completed his project at Juliette Fowler Communities. This inspired Charlie to pursue a project that would help make life easier for seniors living in the community. Charlie led a team, with fellow scouts from Troop 82 and his family, to complete a designated shared-ride station. The facility explained that due to the size of the campus, drivers have been having difficulty locating residents. The structure allows for easier pick-up, as well as provides a shaded area for residents to sit. A resident also added that the area can be used to watch games at the park. I thank Charlie McGinnis for his dedication to the North Texas community while on his path to becoming an Eagle Scout. ____________________
