Mrs. CAPITO (for herself and Mr. Whitehouse) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle G of title X, add the following: SEC. 1___. SENSE OF CONGRESS RELATING TO THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS. It is the sense of Congress that-- (1) the Corps of Engineers provides critical support to communities across the nation through the Civil Works mission of the agency; and (2) enactment of biennial water resources development legislation is necessary to ensure the timely authorization of water resources development studies and projects carried out by the Corps of Engineers. ______
