Mr. PAUL submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill H.R. 82, to amend title II of the Social Security Act to repeal the Government pension offset and windfall elimination provisions; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. __. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CHILD'S INSURANCE BENEFITS. (a) In General.--Section 202(d)(1) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 402(d)(1)) is amended-- (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ``and'' at the end; (2) in subparagraph (C)(iii), by adding ``and'' at the end; and (3) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph: ``(D) at the time such application was filed, had an income that did not exceed 100 percent of the poverty line (as defined in section 2110(c)(5)) applicable to a family of the size involved,''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendments made by this section shall take effect on January 1, 2025. ______
