Mr. VAN HOLLEN (for himself and Ms. Alsobrooks) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill H.R. 6938, making consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place in division C, insert the following: Sec. __. (a) Not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts shall, with respect to any change made on or after December 18, 2025, to the name of the center established under section 2 of the John F. Kennedy Center Act (20 U.S.C. 76h) on any building of the United States, on any material or display of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise), or in any regulation, map, document, paper, or other record of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise), change back to the name used before December 18, 2025, on such building, material, display, regulation, map, document, paper, or other record of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise). (b) None of the funds appropriated in this Act or any other appropriation Act enacted before, on, or after the date of enactment of this Act may be used to change any reference to the name of the John F. Kennedy [[Page S140]] Center for the Performing Arts, as designated under the John F. Kennedy Center Act (20 U.S.C. 76h) -- (1) on any building of the United States; (2) on any material or display of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise); or (3) in any regulation, map, document, paper, or other record of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise). (c) Not later than 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts shall submit a report to the Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies of the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate and the Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives that provides an accounting of all funds used on or after December 18, 2025, to change any reference to the name of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on any building, material, display, regulation, map, document, paper, or other record of the United States (physical, digital, or otherwise). ____________________
