Ms. BALDWIN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle C of title VIII, add the following: SEC. 850. ENHANCED DOMESTIC MANUFACTURE CONTENT REQUIREMENTS FOR MAJOR SHIPBUILDING PROGRAMS. Section 835(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (Public Law 118-31; 10 U.S.C. 4201 note prec.) is amended-- (1) in paragraph (4)(B), by striking ``shall not'' and inserting ``except as provided in paragraph (5), shall not''; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: ``(5) Exclusion for shipbuilding programs.--Paragraph (4)(B) shall not apply to manufactured articles procured in connection with a ship building program.''. ______
