Ms. ALSOBROOKS submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to amendment SA 5453 proposed by Mr. Graham to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33.; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. APPROPRIATION FOR LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. (a) Reduction in Amounts Appropriated.--Notwithstanding section 202, the amount appropriated under that section shall be reduced by $400,000,000. (b) Appropriation for LIHEAP.--In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Secretary of Health and Human Services for fiscal year 2026, to remain available until September 30, 2029, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $400,000,000 to carry out the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 (42 U.S.C. 2621 et seq.). ______
