Ms. CORTEZ MASTO submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill H.R. 7148, making further consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: On page 1235, between lines 21 and 22, insert the following: Sec. 555. None of the funds appropriated or otherwise made available by this division or by Public Law 119-21, and none of the fees collected by the Department of Homeland Security, may be used by any component of the Department of Homeland Security while carrying out any civil immigration enforcement activity under the immigration laws (as defined in section 101(17) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(17)))-- (1) to detain a citizen of the United States; or (2) to deport a citizen of the United States from the United States. ______
