Turner Congratulates Winner of the Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) met with the winner from the Tenth District's Congressional Art Competition for 2025. More than 250 students submitted their work for this year's competition. This year's winner is Ravyn Strozier, a 12 th grade student from Stivers School for the Arts. Ravyn's winning piece, titled "As sweet as a honeybee" is a mixed media ballpoint pen and colored pencil self-portrait that depicts trypophobia, the fear of repetitive clustered holes or bumps through honeycomb. "I congratulate Ravyn Strozier, the winner of this year's Congressional Art Competition from our district," said Congressman Mike Turner. "Dayton and the Miami Valley is home to some of the most talented young artists in the nation, and this year's art competition was our most competitive year yet, with 267 submissions from 14 high schools. For the next year, Ravyn's artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for Members of Congress, their staff, and visitors from across the nation to appreciate. Thank you to all of the students who participated in this special education opportunity that recognizes the importance of promoting creativity in our students."
