Congressman Fine and 24 Fellow House Republicans Demand Senate Pass the SAVE America Act

This morning, Congressman Fine sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune demanding immediate passage of the SAVE America Act. Congressman Fine joined fellow House Republicans in making a simple point clear: Enough is enough. Until the Senate takes up and passes the SAVE America Act, Congressman Fine and his 24 Republican colleagues are prepared to vote NO on any Senate legislation except DHS funding. The message is simple: securing America’s elections must come first. The American people deserve secure elections. Requiring proof of citizenship to vote is not controversial. It is common sense and ensures that only American citizens control the future of our nation. It has now been a month since the House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections and minimize fraudulent voting. Despite overwhelming bipartisan support for voter ID requirements (over 81%), the Senate has yet to bring this common-sense bill to the floor. “Continuing the same old kabuki shows is unacceptable, and the American people deserve better. Majority Leader John Thune can say whatever he wants about my colleagues and me holding the line, but we won’t tolerate Washington’s games any longer. Americans should be the only ones voting in American elections. My letter makes it crystal clear that we won’t stop until that becomes a reality.” - Congressman Randy Fine The SAVE America Act does three major things. All voters will be required to show photo ID when casting their vote. All voters will be required to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote. Bans mail-in ballots, which have created a culture of cheating used by Democrats Congressman Fine is committed to holding the line until Senate Republicans get their act together and pass the SAVE America Act to secure our elections. Cosigners on Congressman Fine’s letter include Reps. Andy Harris, Chip Roy, Keith Self, Michael Cloud, Josh Brecheen, Clay Higgins, Lauren Boebert, Byron Donalds, Andrew Clyde, Sheri Biggs, Scott Perry, Ralph Norman, Andy Ogles, Mark Harris, Eric Burlison, Mary Miller, Anna Paulina Luna, Andy Biggs, Cory Mills, Warren Davidson, Burgess Owens, Jimmy Patronis, Brandon Gill, and Russ Fulcher.
