REP. DESJARLAIS TO SERVE AS HASC CORE CONFEREE DURING NDAA CONFERENCE

(WASHINGTON, DC)-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appointed Representative Scott DesJarlais on Tuesday, September 19 th , to serve as a core conferee during the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) conference. The House and Senate each passed their own versions of the NDAA. In order for the bill to move on to President Biden's desk, each chamber must pass the same version of the bill. "I am honored to be chosen as a conferee. Ensuring that our military is fully funded is our best line of defense against our adversaries," said DesJarlais. "I will work to make sure that Arnold Air Force Base, Fort Campbell, Y12 National Security Complex, and other Tennessee military assets have the resources they need to continue providing valuable capabilities to our armed forces." House and Senate members appointed as conferees will negotiate and vote on a final version of the bill that will then be sent back to House and Senate floor to be voted on by all members. ###
