Opening Central Subway Opening Central Subway Image or Video Image admin Wed, 07/12/2023 - 17:20 Summary Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi joins Deputy Administrator Veronica Vanterpool of the Federal Transit Administration, Mayor London Breed, other political leaders and community members for the official opening of the Central Subway where they discussed the importance of unifying communities, creating jobs, environmental and economic justice. Pelosi helped to secure 53% of the total cost of the Central Subway, over $1 billion in federal funds, which will provide a direct transit connection between Chinatown, Downtown and the T-Third line.
