Boozman Says Supreme Court's Push for Enhanced Security is Compelling WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) took part in a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government hearing to review the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request for the Supreme Court of the United States. The senator questioned Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett on the current security needs and agreed that additional funding for security expenses is warranted. Boozman asked the Justices to share details on the Court Police force's threat assessment and risk mitigation efforts with outside agencies such as the U.S. Marshals, Capitol Police, and local police departments. The senator also requested an update on the Court Police's recruiting and retention, as well as how the budget increase it is request in Fiscal Year 2027 would make the Court and the lives of its members and staff safer.
