Rep. Haridopolos Secures Funding for Space Coast Community Funded Projects Rep. Haridopolos Secures Funding for Space Coast Community Funded Projects Kaley.Stidham@… Mon, 01/12/2026 - 13:27 WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) released the following statement after last week’s passage of the Commerce, Justice, Science–Energy & Water–Interior minibus, a legislative package that combines several appropriations bills to fund public safety, scientific research, environmental protection, and critical water infrastructure. The minibus includes several priority community projects across Florida’s Space Coast, delivering targeted federal investments in public safety, education, environmental restoration, and clean water infrastructure. “My top priority in Congress is making sure the federal government works for the people it serves. That means investing in local projects that deliver real, tangible results for families across Florida’s Space Coast—strengthening public safety, expanding education, improving water quality, and protecting our environment,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “The funding secured in the appropriations bill reflects what I hear directly from constituents, and I will continue working to ensure federal dollars are spent responsibly and delivered where they matter most: right here at home.” Funding Included in the Package: Nearly $14,000,000 to improve the water quality and long-term health of the Indian River Lagoon and protect its marine wildlife. Over $2,000,000 to establish the Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School’s new Aviation Assembly and Fabrication Program, giving students hands-on training and preparing the next generation for careers in the aerospace workforce. $500,000 to modernize the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office search-and-rescue helicopter, enabling faster response times and more immediate, life-saving service to the community. These local investments build on broader efforts to strengthen America’s leadership in space and innovation. In addition, the House also secured $24.4 billion for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration , reinforcing the Space Coast’s role at the forefront of America’s aerospace future. ### Congress Number 119th Congress January 12, 2026 Press Release February 27, 2026
