Mr. SHEEHY (for himself and Mr. Padilla) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle A of title XV, add the following: SEC. 1510A. PROCUREMENT OF COMMERCIAL SPACE-BASED DATA TO SUPPORT WILDFIRE RESILIENCE. (a) Procurement.--Subject to the availability of appropriations for such purpose, the Secretary of the Air Force, acting through the Commercial Space Office and in coordination with the FireGuard program of the National Guard and the Commander of the United States Northern Command, shall procure space-based commercial data and end products to support the efforts of the Department of Defense and the wildfire mission of the United States Northern Command by delivering timely, effective military support to the Federal Government and State, local, and Tribal governments to protect military readiness and installations, provide emergency military support to civil authorities, and conduct proactive wildland fire management. (b) Authorized Sharing.--The Secretary may share space- based commercial data and end products procured under subsection (a) with State, local, and Tribal governments to assist with firefighting efforts. ______
