Congressional Pro-Life Caucus Co-Chairs: On the fourth Dobbs anniversary, we renew the call to end abortion violence and support women and unborn babies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On the fourth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization , reversing the flawed 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion on demand, the Co-Chairs of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus - Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN), Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), and Rep. Bob Onder (R-MO) - issued the following statement: On the fourth anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson , we remember all the named and nameless victims of abortion, and we recommit ourselves to the most critical human rights issue of our time: protecting unborn children from the violence of abortion and providing true assistance to their mothers. The Dobbs decision - brilliantly authored by Justice Samuel Alito - has empowered lawmakers at both the federal and state levels to pass and push for laws that protect mothers and their unborn babies. At the same time, we will work together to elevate those agencies and non-profit organizations that seek to nurture and protect human life, as well as assist pregnant women and their children. That is why we must continue to promote and protect the critical work of the more than 2,700 pregnancy care centers in the United States, which help to meet the complex needs of women and families navigating unexpected pregnancies. Over the past five years, pregnancy care centers have cumulatively saved the lives of more than 828,130 unborn babies . And according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute's 2025 National Pregnancy Center Report , in 2024 alone, pregnancy care centers offered 3.8 million client sessions, provided $452 million in free goods and services, and earned a client satisfaction rate of 98 percent. President Trump's recent release of Moms.gov , a new website that connects new and expecting mothers to their nearest pregnancy care centers , is a timely reminder of these organizations' important work. Throughout this Congress, we have introduced - and the U.S. House of Representatives has passed - legislation to recognize and safeguard the vital work of pregnancy care centers. In March of 2025, Rep. Smith (NJ) introduced the Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act of 2025 ( HR 2226 ), legislation to prohibit federal, state and local governments from discriminating against pregnancy care centers because of their life-affirming mission. In January, Rep. Fischbach's Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act ( HR 6945 ), which clarifies that states may direct Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding to pregnancy care centers, passed the U.S. House of Representatives and now awaits action in the Senate. We also filed an amicus brief in support of pro-life pregnancy centers that had been unjustly targeted by the state of New Jersey, and later welcomed the Supreme Court's unanimous decision in their favor. Pregnancy care centers provide the life-affirming assistance that women need in the face of the abortion lobby's aggressive and unrelenting push for abortion in all forms, especially and including the mass proliferation of mifepristone - the baby poison pill. This chemical abortion drug, which works by barbarically starving the unborn child to death, is also exceedingly dangerous to women. According to recent reports, 11% of women who take mifepristone experience sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or another serious adverse event within 45 days. While the unfeeling abortion industry continues their attempted cover-up of the deleterious and life-threatening complications of chemical abortions, the Pro-Life Caucus will continue to stand up for women and their unborn babies and hold abortionists accountable.
