Mr. BENNET (for himself and Mr. Hickenlooper) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place in subtitle G of title X, insert the following: SEC. __. PROHIBITION ON EXPANSION OF THE MID-CONTINENT LIMESTONE QUARRY. The Secretary of the Interior shall not approve any application for the expansion of existing mineral operations located on any mining or mill site claim located under the general mining laws, or for any mineral material sales contract or application under the [[Page S3160]] Act of July 31, 1947 (commonly known as the ``Materials Act of 1947'') (61 Stat. 681, chapter 406; 30 U.S.C. 601 et seq.) or the Act of July 23, 1955 (commonly known as the ``Surface Resources Act of 1955'') (69 Stat. 367, chapter 375; 30 U.S.C. 611 et seq.), for limestone on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management that is located in whole or in part within the Southeast Quarter of Section 36, Township 5 South, Range 89 West, 6th Principal Meridian, Garfield County, Colorado. ____________________
