Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E1037] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING TEXAS-24 HOMETOWN HERO MYLES TURNER ______ HON. BETH VAN DUYNE of texas in the house of representatives Tuesday, October 6, 2026 Ms. VAN DUYNE. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize our Texas-24 Hometown Hero, Myles Turner. Myles is a former Euless Trinity basketball superstar, who has a legacy of giving back to his community. The Milwaukee Bucks Center recently announced that he's pledged $2 million over the next 20 years to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD athletic department, a donation that will support every middle and high school in the area. Over the next 20 years, the funds will help students get to the next level, which Myles clarifies can have a variety of meanings, not just professional sports. Turner encourages students to pursue their passion, whatever it may be. To support this message, he also gifted Trinity's choir program with a grand piano. In his honor, Trinity High School will name the new arena the Myles Turner Fieldhouse, where Turner will host basketball camps, practices, and clinics for Work as Role Models, his nonprofit. I thank Myles for his consistent care and support of our North Texas community and for being an inspiration to all. ____________________
