FREDERICA S. WILSON of florida in the house of representatives Friday, December 19, 2025 Ms. WILSON of Florida. Mr. Speaker, I, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, from the 24th district of the great state of Florida, rise today to recognize Mayor Michael Joseph for his philanthropy and commitment to helping at-risk youth. I am pleased to deliver this message on behalf of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, presenting him with the Congressional Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to the North Miami Beach community. We honor him as a distinguished Role Model Mentor and a graduate of our program, acknowledging his remarkable accomplishments as the first Haitian American mayor and first Black mayor of North Miami Beach. His statement, ``God has a plan for me,'' reflects his purpose-driven leadership, and his actions exemplify his dedication to improving educational opportunities and empowering youth. His commendable efforts to foster an environment where young people, particularly young men of color, can thrive have made a significant impact. His initiatives to enhance education, promote mentorship, and advocate for social equity resonate deeply with our mission. The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project values his vision and partnership in empowering youth, His collaboration with local organizations has been instrumental in creating pathways for success and inspiring others to strive for excellence. We extend our gratitude for his commitment to enhancing the quality of life in North Miami Beach. I congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition; we look forward to continuing our partnership in making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth. [[Page E1240]] We now recognize Role Model Mayor Michael Joseph, who has achieved a significant milestone in the political history of North Miami Beach by becoming the first Haitian American mayor and the first Black mayor of a city renowned for its vibrant and diverse population. His exemplary leadership and steadfast dedication to the youth and communities of North Miami Beach are evident in the city's ongoing growth and prosperity. ____________________
