Klobuchar on Two-Day Rural Economy Tour in Western Minnesota

Her focus will be on rural child care access, small business, public safety, and improving local infrastructure MINNESOTA - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar will be in Western Minnesota over the next two days on a rural economy tour, where she will meet with local leaders, small business owners, and first responders in Litchfield, Willmar, Canby, Montevideo, Lake Benton, and Marshall. Her visits will include a meeting with business owners on child care shortages, and stops to meet with mayors and local leaders at local groceries, businesses, fire stations, and infrastructure projects including the Willmar Wye at Highway 23. She will take part in an event marking upgrades to a key emergency services facility paid for in part by federal funding she advocated for. She will also take part by Zoom in the signing ceremony for the major Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project partnership agreement that she, Moorhead, Fargo, and North Dakota U.S. Senate leaders have worked toward for years. "This week I will meet with Minnesotans across the state. I want to hear directly from them about the issues they are facing, especially when it comes to childcare access, household costs, and how we can improve our infrastructure and public safety. Creating thriving rural communities is vital to Minnesota's strength as a state," said Klobuchar. Every year, Klobuchar visits all 87 Minnesota counties. ###
