Surface Transportation Block Grant Program

Funding : $72,000,000,000 Description : Provides funding to States and local governments for a wide range of eligible surface transportation improvements, with flexibility to best address State and local transportation needs. Eligible Recipients : Formula funding to States, District of Columbia Eligible Uses : The Surface Transportation Block Grant Program is available for the roughly one million miles of Federal-aid highways, for bridges on any public road, and for transit capital projects. This includes projects such as federal-aid bridge repair; highway and bridge rehabilitation and construction; off-system bridge repair; pedestrian, bicycle, and recreational trails; and other activities.
