Mr. KAINE submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. __. PROHIBITION ON IMPLEMENTING SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT THAT ESTABLISHES THE ANTI-WEAPONIZATION FUND. The Department of Justice may not implement the settlement agreement announced on May 18, 2026, that establishes the Anti-Weaponization Fund. SEC. __. SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FUNDING. In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Secretary [[Page S2590]] of Agriculture for fiscal year 2026 to carry out the supplemental nutrition assistance program established under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.) $1,776,000,000, to remain available until expended. ______
