Mr. BLUMENTHAL submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33.; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. DOJ OIG INVESTIGATION. The Inspector General of the Department of Justice shall conduct an investigation into the allegations of manipulation of Federal Bureau of Investigation arrest statistics and the Most Wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation using such amounts as are necessary from amounts made available under section 90007 of the Act entitled ``An [[Page S2609]] Act to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H. Con. Res. 14'', approved July 4, 2025 (Public Law 119-21; 139 Stat. 361) (commonly known as the ``One Big Beautiful Bill Act''), which the Secretary of Homeland Security shall transfer to the Inspector General of the Department of Justice upon request. ______
