CRAIG A. GOLDMAN of texas in the house of representatives Thursday, October 15, 2026 Mr. GOLDMAN of Texas. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the 20th anniversary of the James and Dorothy Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford, Texas. For two decades, the Doss Heritage and Culture Center has served as a gathering place where the history and traditions of Parker County can be discovered, appreciated, and passed on to future generations. What began as an effort to provide greater space for the county's growing historical collections has developed into a vibrant cultural institution that welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The exhibits at the Doss highlight the individuals, communities, industries, and events that have helped shape Parker County. Community learning and family activities are offered to make local history accessible and interesting to visitors of all ages. From historic artifacts and pioneer-era structures to Western art, music, and cultural celebrations, the center provides a unique connection to the past. The Doss also plays an important role in bringing people together. Events such as the annual Pioneer Heritage Fest draw visitors from across Texas and beyond, while concerts, educational programs, children's activities, and partnerships with local organizations strengthen the center's role in the community. This milestone would not be possible without the dedication of the staff, volunteers, board members, donors, and countless community supporters who have recognized the importance of preserving Parker County's story. Their efforts ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to learn from and appreciate the people and traditions that came before them. On behalf of the 12th Congressional District of Texas, I am proud to recognize the James and Dorothy Doss Heritage and Cultural Center and everyone who helped make possible its enduring contribution to Weatherford, Parker County, and the broader Texas community. May its next chapter be filled with continued growth, discovery, and a lasting commitment to preserving the history that makes this community special. ____________________
