Mr. HEINRICH submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33.; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place in title I, insert the following: SEC. __. APPROPRIATION FOR TRAINING BORDER PATROL AGENTS TO BE EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS. (a) In General.--In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated for fiscal year 2026, out of amounts in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $200,000,000 to the Chief of U.S. Border Patrol, to remain available until September 30, 2029, to train and certify Border Patrol agents as emergency medical technicians. (b) Reduction in Funds.--Notwithstanding section 102, the amount appropriated under that section shall be $7,250,000,000. ______
