Mr. SCHIFF submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 1383, to establish the Veterans Advisory Committee on Equal Access, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. _____. PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING CLOSING CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS. (a) In General.--The Attorney General shall publicly notice when Department of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigation closes an open criminal investigation involving an executive branch political appointee. (b) Contents.--The notice required under subsection (a) shall include-- (1) the opening and closing date of the investigation; (2) whether the political appointee still works for the Federal Government; (3) whether any disciplinary action was taken in relation to the investigation; and (4) the name of any political appointee who approved the decision to close the investigation. (c) Applicability.--The requirements of this section shall apply to any investigation closed on or after January 20, 2025. ______
