HONORING OFFICER CHARLES RUTH

Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 25 (Wednesday, February 4, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 25 (Wednesday, February 4, 2026)] [House] [Page H2013] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING OFFICER CHARLES RUTH (Mr. FRY asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.) Mr. FRY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and honor Department of Natural Resources Officer Charles Ruth for 31 years of exceptional service to the State of South Carolina. For more than three decades, Charles devoted his career to protecting our natural resources and preserving the outdoor traditions that make our State unique. During his time with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, he served as the State's big game coordinator. He helped oversee the management of deer, wild turkey, and black bear populations across our State. Over the years, Charles helped shape over 100 laws, engaged directly with the public of South Carolina, and ensured our wildlife policies were based on sound science and respect for landowners and sportsmen. Thanks to his commitment, South Carolina's approach to wildlife management remains one of the strongest and most respected in the country. His work will continue to benefit our State for generations. ____________________
