Speaker Johnson Recognizes Damon & Tammy Magee as 2026 Angels in Adoption Honorees

WASHINGTON — Speaker Johnson, in partnership with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), recognized Pastor Damon Magee and his wife Tammy Magee as 2026 Angels in Adoption honorees. Damon, Pastor at King’s Temple United Pentecostal Church in Shreveport, and his wife, Tammy, are both biological and adoptive parents and have served as foster parents to numerous children. Every year, members of Congress nominate an individual, family, or organization to be recognized for demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent, loving homes. Speaker Johnson nominated the Magees, who by opening their home to foster care and adoption, have graciously given a loving home to nearly 10 children and inspired numerous families in their church community to follow in their footsteps. “Pastor Damon and Tammy Magee have faithfully opened their hearts and home, living out their calling to uphold the sanctity of every human life through foster care and adoption. The Magees are the biological parents of two children, adoptive parents to two more, and have served as foster parents to seven children over the years,” Speaker Johnson said . “I am honored to recognize Damon and Tammy as our 2026 Angels in Adoption honorees, and I am touched by their willingness to answer God’s call to care for so many children in our community and inspire other families to do the same.” “We are incredibly humbled to be honored and are grateful for the opportunity to share our story with our nation's leaders. You never know the difference you can make in the world by investing in one child,” Pastor Damon and Tammy Magee said. "Our greatest joy is that in the last two years we have seen eight other families in our church join in the foster and adoption community with many more to come by faith." Background: Since 1999, CCAI’s Angels in Adoption program has upheld a tradition of celebrating the extraordinary efforts of individuals, couples, families, and organizations who work tirelessly to advocate for children in need of a family. Throughout the 27 years, over 3,200 Angels have received this special honor. Honorees are awarded at CCAI’s annual Angels in Adoption Gala every fall in Washington, D.C.
