CONGRESSMAN CARLOS GIMENEZ APPLAUDS PRESIDENT TRUMP'S COMMITMENT TO FREEDOM IN CUBA

MIAMI, FL - Today, Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (R-FL) released the following statement in response to President Donald J. Trump's remarks regarding oil shipments and financial support flowing to the Communist Cuban regime: Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez said, " Thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for your unwavering commitment to the cause of freedom in our hemisphere. First, he confronted the narco-terrorist dictatorship in Venezuela, and now he is standing firm for the land where I was born, Cuba. Our Cuban American community stood with President Trump, and President Trump stands with us, and for that we will be forever grateful. "Let me be clear: this hemisphere must be the hemisphere of freedom and democracy. The days of Communist dictatorships terrorizing their people and threatening our security are numbered, and the dictatorship in Cuba has been warned. "To the leaders of the Castro regime, my advice is simple: do not make the same mistake Nicol s Maduro made, there is still time to leave. Do not test the resolve of the United States. With President Trump's leadership, we will help the Cuban people reclaim their freedom, rebuild their homeland, and take back their beautiful island from the communist narcoterrorist thugs who destroyed it."
