Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach in Dawson

Willmar, MN - Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach visited Dawson while touring the district. She stopped at Ag Processing Inc to meet with staff to discuss her support for clear execution guidelines for the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit. The Congresswoman voted for critical changes and extensions to 45Z in the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) and has continued to press the US Treasury for implementation guidance. She also visited Trails End Duplexes to meet with members of the Economic Development Authority about their use of state grant opportunities and potential federal grant opportunities for future projects. The Congresswoman has previously used her position on the Ways Means Committee to secure tax relief programs for rural housing, including the expanded Qualified Opportunity Zone program and establishing the New Markets Tax Credit as a permanent program. The Congresswoman also stopped at the Little Eagles Childcare and Dawson-Boyd Blackjack Babies Little Jacks Child Care facilities to discuss challenges with staffing shortages and rising operational costs. Rep. Fischbach recently signed a letter requesting funding for the Child Care Development Block Grant and the Head Start Program. While at the Dawson-Boyd School, she also had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration of how students are learning about precision agriculture.
