ZOE LOFGREN of california in the house of representatives Thursday, October 1, 2026 Ms. LOFGREN. Mr. Speaker, I rise today, as Chair of and on behalf of the California Democratic delegation, to offer sincere condolences to our colleague, Representative Dave Min on the passing of his mother, Heikyung Chun Min of Palo Alto. Ms. Chun Min was born and raised in South Korea. After attending Seoul National University for a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, she was chosen for a scholarship program to study in the United States at Brown University. She completed her post-doctoral fellowships at Cornell University. In 1979, Ms. Chun Min and her family moved to California and were one of the first engineers and executives in Silicon Valley's semiconductor industry. Her hard work and dedication led her to senior positions at Fairchild Semiconductor and National Semiconductor. In addition to her successful engineering career, Ms. Chun Min was a caring mother to her two children and her five grandchildren. She was also a longtime volunteer at Gunn High School, where both of her sons attended. Ms. Chun Min led an extraordinary life and her dedication to innovation in Silicon Valley. May her memory continue to comfort those fortunate enough to know her. She was loved and respected by her community and her family. ____________________
