Mrs. SHAHEEN (for herself and Mr. Grassley) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle D of title V, add the following: SEC. 539F. RIGHTS OF THE VICTIM UNDER THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. Section 806b(a) of title 10, United States Code (article 6b(a) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice), is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraphs: ``(10) The right not to be prevented from, or charged for, receiving a medical forensic examination. ``(11) In the case of offenses involving sexual assault: ``(A) The right to have a sexual assault evidence collection kit or its probative contents preserved, without charge for the duration of the maximum applicable statute of limitations or 20 years, whichever is shorter. ``(B) The right to be informed of any result of a sexual assault evidence collection kit, including a DNA profile match, toxicology report, or other information collected as part of a medical forensic examination, if such disclosure would not impede or compromise an ongoing investigation. ``(C) The right to be informed in writing of policies governing the collection and preservation of a sexual assault evidence collection kit. ``(D) The right to be informed of the status and location of a sexual assault evidence collection kit. ``(E) The right, upon written request, to receive written notification from the appropriate official with custody not later than 60 days before the date of the intended destruction or disposal. ``(F) The right, upon written request, to be granted further preservation of the kit or its probative contents.''. ______
