House Republicans Fully Fund Veterans Health Care Programs and Support Military Families

WASHINGTON — Speaker Johnson released the following statement after the House approved H.R. 8469 , the FY27 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. “This legislation builds on House Republicans’ commitment to supporting veterans, American soldiers, and military families, and represents the beginning of our regular order appropriations process for FY27. “Thanks to the great work of the House Appropriations Committee, this legislation fully funds veterans’ health care and benefits, invests billions of dollars in capital and infrastructure improvements at VA medical facilities nationwide, and continues to fund critically important mental health and suicide prevention programs for American veterans. This legislation also supports military families – the unsung heroes who keep the home fires burning while our servicemembers are away serving our country. “We owe a large debt of gratitude to America’s men and women in uniform, and this legislation reflects House Republicans commitment to our servicemembers, their families, and their wellbeing. Congress will always look out for the men and women who voluntarily took up arms to defend our nation.” ###
