GLENN IVEY of maryland in the house of representatives Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Mr. IVEY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor James Willis Bullock, Jr., who is turning 98 years old today. Mr. Bullock, Jr. served our country honorably as a member of the Air Force, Flight 3056, Squadron 3727, as a District of Columbia Social Services Counselor and Representative, and conducted the District's Traffic Alcohol Program. Mr. Bullock, Jr.'s service ensured the American public's safety and well-being. Born on September 16, 1928, in Durham, North Carolina, Mr. Bullock, Jr. went on to attend North Carolina A&T as a member of JROTC, then bravely enlisted in the Air Force. His service and membership to Squadron 3727 instilled Mr. Bullock's place in our Nation's history, and made him a symbol of desegregation and equal rights. His actions remind us of the sacrifice many Black veterans made and continue to make. After 20 years of distinguished service, Mr. Bullock ultimately earned the Air Force Commendation Medal. Following his military service, Mr. Bullock, Jr. continued serving the community as a Social Services Counselor for the Government of the District of Columbia, Department of Public Welfare, SSA Children's Center. His ability to succeed in this role led to his appointment as Social Services Representative at Maple Glen D.C. Children's Center, where he cared and provided for nearly 100 children. The selflessness exemplified by Mr. Bullock earned him a Certificate from the District of Columbia. Even after this record of accomplishments, Mr. Bullock, Jr., trusted by the public, was selected to conduct the District of Columbia's Traffic Alcohol Program. After three years of dedication to this role, Mr. Bullock, Jr. assisted 50 individuals through the program, furthering our Nation's public safety. ____________________
