Wittman’s Bill to Rename New Kent Post Office to Honor Patricia Paige Passes

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman’s (VA-01) legislation to rename the New Kent Post Office to honor the late Patricia Paige, whose lifetime of service left a profound mark on Virginia, passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support. Paige, a veteran of the Army Reserves and long-time member of the New Kent County Board of Supervisors, passed away on November 28, 2023, after decades of dedicated public service. “I am thrilled to see that my bill to rename the New Kent Post Office in honor of Patricia Paige has passed the House,” said Rep. Wittman. “Ms. Paige was a community leader whose impact will be felt for generations. She was passionate about creating opportunities for young people, protecting seniors from fraud, and improving transportation access across the region. She loved this community, and we owe it to her to honor and continue her legacy.” "Ms. Paige worked diligently on getting the New Kent Post Office built, and she loved New Kent County, Va. She would do anything to help anyone. Ms. Paige loved the Lord and her family and friends. The Paige family is grateful to everyone who helped get this post office renamed for their kindness and friendship, not only to Patricia, but also the family." - Sandi Paige, Sister of Patricia Paige This bipartisan legislation was cosponsored by Representatives Jen Kiggans (VA-02), Bobby Scott (VA-03), Jennifer McClellan (VA-04), John McGuire (VA-05), Ben Cline (VA-06), Eugene Vindman (VA-07), Don Beyer (VA-08), Morgan Griffith (VA-09), Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), and James Walkinshaw (VA-11).
