Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Protein for Every Plate Act of 2026''. SEC. 2. AMENDMENTS. Section 27(a)(2) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2036(a)(2)) is amended-- (1) in subparagraph (D) by striking ``and'' at the end, (2) in subparagraph (E) and inserting the period at the end and inserting ``; and'', and (3) by adding at the end the following: ``(F) for each of the fiscal years 2026 and 2027, the sum obtained by adding the total dollar amount of commodities specified in subparagraph (E) for such fiscal year and $200,000,000 for the purchase of animal protein.''. <all>
