To amend title 5, United States Code, to authorize the increase of the retirement age in the United States Capitol Police.

Referred to the Committee on House Administration, and in addition to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

The proposal would allow the U.S. Capitol Police to raise the mandatory retirement age for its officers, giving them the option to work longer before being required to retire. This change would affect Capitol Police officers and could help the department retain experienced officers and manage staffing levels. The bill is currently under review by House committees to determine whether it should move forward.
