R. 10237 To amend title 49, United States Code, to require an active USDOT number to conduct operations of certain commercial motor vehicles, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES September 2, 2026 Mr. Taylor (for himself and Mr. Figures) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend title 49, United States Code, to require an active USDOT number to conduct operations of certain commercial motor vehicles, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Registration Enforcement for Vehicle Operations of Known Evaders Act'' or the ``REVOKE Act''. SEC. 2. ACTIVE USDOT NUMBER REQUIRED. Section 31134 of title 49, United States Code, is amended-- (1) in subsection (a) in the second sentence by striking ``a USDOT number'' and inserting ``an active USDOT number''; (2) by redesignating subsection (e) as subsection (f); and (3) by inserting after subsection (d) the following: ``(e) Active USDOT Number Required.-- ``(1) In general.--No employer or person may conduct operations requiring registration under this section or chapter 139 of this title without an active USDOT Number. ``(2) Determination.--The Secretary shall only issue an active USDOT Number to an employer or person seeking registration under this section or under chapter 139 of this title after the Secretary determines that the employer or person meets all of the requirements for registration. ``(3) Inactivating usdot numbers.--The Secretary shall immediately inactivate the USDOT Number of an employer or person issued under this subsection if the employer or person does not have any valid registration issued under this section or under chapter 139 of this title; or, if the employer or person failed to make any periodic update required by the Secretary.''. <all>
