R. 10754 To amend the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 to update certain indicators of the local impact of a disaster, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES October 6, 2026 Mr. Crane introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 to update certain indicators of the local impact of a disaster, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Rural Disaster Fairness Act of 2026''. SEC. 2. LOCAL IMPACT. Section 1232 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 (42 U.S.C. 5170 note) is amended-- (1) by redesignating subsection (b) as subsection (c); and (2) by inserting after subsection (a) the following: ``(b) County Per Capita Evaluation.--In measuring the local impact of a disaster pursuant to subsection (a), the Administrator shall ensure that the threshold amount of estimated public assistance damages needed to meet the county per capita indicator is reduced by 50 percent if less than 15 percent of the total land area of the county is subject to the real property taxes of such county.''. <all>
