Plain-English Summary
The bill would protect food banks, charities, and farmers from lawsuits when they donate food to hungry families, even if the food causes illness or injury. It aims to encourage more food donations by reducing the legal risk that organizations face when giving away surplus or imperfect food that might otherwise go to waste. The law would affect food banks, restaurants, grocery stores, farms, and other businesses that donate food to people in need.
