MethodologyVeterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2026
Starting December 1, 2026, veterans who have disabilities connected to their military service would receive higher monthly payments from the VA, and surviving family members of deceased disabled veterans would also get increased benefits. The bill aims to help veterans and their families keep up with rising living costs by boosting the compensation amounts they currently receive. This would affect millions of veterans and their dependents who rely on these VA payments for financial support.
IBOGAINE Act
The proposal would speed up the research, development, and approval process for psychedelic drugs—such as psilocybin and MDMA—that researchers believe could treat serious mental health conditions like depression, PTSD, and anxiety. It aims to make these experimental treatments available to patients faster while potentially helping address the mental health crisis affecting millions of Americans. The bill has been sent to three House committees for review.
Prohibit Deactivation of the ECABs Act of 2026
The proposal would restrict the military from using certain funds to shut down or reduce Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigades, which are Army units that provide helicopter support and air combat capabilities to troops deployed overseas. This affects military budget decisions and could prevent the Pentagon from eliminating these aviation units even if it wanted to reduce spending or reorganize forces. The measure is currently under review by the House Armed Services Committee.
Review Every Veterans Claim Act of 2025
Review Every Veterans Claim Act of 2025 This bill prohibits the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from denying a claim for benefits on the sole basis that a veteran failed to appear for a medical examination provided by the VA in conjunction with the claim for benefits.
To require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to disinter the remains of Fernando V. Cota from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Texas, and for other purposes.
This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to disinter the remains of Fernando V. Cota from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Texas, after notifying his next of kin. The VA must relinquish the remains to the next of kin or, if no next of kin responds to the notification, arrange for the disposition of the remains. Cota was interred prior to the enactment of regulations that would have barred his interment due to a 1975 rape conviction.

The bill aims to improve outcomes for those who have served in the armed forces by addressing specific challenges they face during and after their military careers. Service members, veterans, and their families would be the primary beneficiaries of these new protections or programs.
Justice for American Victims of Illegal Aliens Act
The proposed legislation would create a legal pathway for American citizens and their families to sue the federal government for damages if they are harmed by crimes committed by people who are in the country illegally. It would also establish a fund to compensate victims of such crimes. The bill aims to hold the government accountable for immigration enforcement and provide financial relief to crime victims and their families.
Expressing support for the designation of "National Stop SuiSilence Day".
This resolution expresses congressional support for designating a national day dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention and encouraging people to speak openly about mental health struggles. The measure aims to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and promote conversations about mental health among the general public, healthcare providers, and community organizations. No new laws or government programs would be created; rather, it's a symbolic statement of support for suicide awareness efforts.
Veterans Claims Quality Improvement Act of 2025
This bill aims to improve how the Department of Veterans Affairs processes and decides claims from veterans seeking benefits like disability compensation or healthcare. Tribal Gaming Regulatory Compliance Act
Tribal Gaming Regulatory Compliance Act This bill allows the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and Alabama-Coushatta tribes to conduct gaming activities on their land in Texas if certain conditions are met. Currently, the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo and Alabama-Coushatta Indian Tribes of Texas Restoration Act prohibits the tribes from conducting gaming activities on their land if those activities are prohibited by Texas law. The bill repeals those provisions and instead applies the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) to gaming activities on Indian lands of the tribes.
Critical Businesses Preparedness Act
Critical Businesses Preparedness Act This bill establishes a new tax credit, as part of the general business tax credit, for a percentage of the costs for certain businesses that are critical in the aftermath of a flood or hurricane to purchase and install an electric generator. Specifically, under the bill, hospitals, nursing homes, grocery stores, gas stations, and other businesses determined to be critical in the aftermath of a flood or hurricane are allowed a tax credit for 30% of the costs paid (or incurred) to purchase and install an electric generator in an area at high risk of flooding or hurricanes. The bill requires taxpayers to reduce the basis (cost for federal tax purposes) of an electric generator by the amount for which the tax credit is claimed. Further, taxpayers may not claim other federal tax benefits in addition to the tax credit for the same electric generator expenses.

Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2025 This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to increase the amounts payable for wartime disability compensation, additional compensation for dependents, the clothing allowance for certain disabled veterans, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children. Specifically, the VA must increase the amounts by the same percentage as the cost-of-living increase in benefits for Social Security recipients that is effective on December 1, 2025. The bill requires the VA to publish the amounts payable, as increased, in the Federal Register. The VA is authorized to make a similar adjustment to the rates of disability compensation payable to persons who have not received compensation for service-connected disability or death.
Stop Human Trafficking of Unaccompanied Migrant Children Act of 2025
This bill aims to strengthen protections against human trafficking of unaccompanied migrant children by likely increasing oversight, enforcement, and support services for vulnerable young people crossing borders without parents or guardians.
